The opening went really well and I am getting geared up to ship the work from Red Deer to Lethbridge. I will tell you more about this a bit later, not now, but soon! But instead of just telling you all how the event went down, here are some images.
I am from Alberta where I currently base my practice. I am an ACAD grad circa 2008. In my time at ACAD I focused on printmaking, but towards graduation I became interested in turning garbage into art, or sometimes just interesting stuff to furnish my life. This has grown into an interdisciplinary practice of constructing narrative through video, performance and installation to effectively stir up conversations about the fragility of modern infrastructure.
I love pushing the boundaries of what is possible with limited resources and with largely salvaged materials and tools. My work is influenced by Ethics and Politics and 80’s popular culture and I have been interested in the idea of food as a political, and socio-economic force, teetering on collapse.
I have shown nationally and participated in a number of exhibitions. I also am a Technician at the Alberta College of Art + Design, and following in my grandfathers footsteps I fix things… anything.
